All we can say is finally! After nearly two months of missed games, the NBA is set to start up on Christmas Day, Decemeber 25. Talk about the best present ever! The Wall Street Journal has the details…

The NBA and its players reached an agreement early Saturday morning that paves the way for their 149-day labor dispute to end and a shortened 66-game season to begin Dec. 25, after nearly two months of missed games.

“We saw a willingness on both sides to compromise a little bit more to reach this agreement, we look forward to opening on Christmas Day,” National Basketball Association Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver said at a press conference just before 4 a.m. “We’re excited to bring NBA basketball back.”

The two sides met for 15 hours at a Manhattan office building, in the first major talks since the union disbanded Nov. 14. In a joint press conference with player representatives, Commissioner David Stern said he will speak with the league’s owners on a conference call later Saturday, and that he expects them to support the deal.

Um, so we definitely aren’t the only ones excited about this. Sad it had to take such an extended period of time for the players and the NBS to figure everything out, but we can’t wait to watch some basketball in just one short month!
