The Cleveland Cavaliers ended the longest losing streak in NBA history, beating the Los Angeles Clippers 126-119 in overtime to halt their record skid at 26 games.

The Cavaliers won for the first time since December 18.

The Cavs had set the NBA single-season and all-time marks for consecutive defeats.

However, with the victory, the Cavaliers made sure they didn’t set a new milestone for the longest losing streak in US professional sports.

They had matched that with defeat number 26 – to Detroit on Wednesday – equalling the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers who went 0-14 in their 1976 debut season and started 0-12 in the 1977 campaign before finally winning.
