J. Cole performed his hit single “Power Trip” for a mainstream audience on ABC’s The View. “Power Trip” is one of many fan favorites on J. Cole’s super successful sophomore album Born Sinner.

Cole currently holds the number two spot on the Billboard charts for this week’s top selling rap albums, falling under Jay Z and topping Kanye West. After Cole hit the stage with a live band, he spoke briefly about the friendly competition.

“I’m a huge Kanye West fan, so I moved my date to come out on the same day as him just to be competitive about it, so it felt good,” Cole explained.

J. Cole also addressed why he apologized for his lyric about autism on “Jodeci Freestyle.” Cole admitted the lyric was offensive, saying: “The more I educated myself, the more embarrassed I got about it.”
