Michael Strahan’s got some seriously big news – we’re talkin’ XXL.

The Live! With Kelly & Michael star confirmed this morning that he will be starring in the upcoming sequel Magic Mike XXL. It’s been a running joke on the show that Strahan should join the cast ever since Channing Tatum appeared as a guest, repeatedly offering him the part.

“Every time Channing would come here he would go, ‘Are you ready?’ Even when we were going on camera and I would say, ‘I stay ready. When you stay ready you don’t have to get ready,'” Michael said.

He also revealed he’s gotten multiple calls from the movie’s wardrobe department, to which he joked:

“Why did he even call me about wardrobe because apparently, there ain’t nothing to be worn…It’s kind of a thong thing.”

Netflix has been making big moves lately, but this may be the biggest yet.

The streaming giant just announced their very first Netflix original movie and it’s kind of a big deal. The film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, is set to premiere on Netflix and in select Global Imax Theaters.

The film will star Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen, with Yuen Wo-Ping signing on as the director. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend is the sequel to the Academy Award-winning film, which hit the silver screen in 2000.

The Weinstein Group released this statement about their upcoming project yesterday:

“The movie-going experience is evolving quickly and profoundly, and Netflix is unquestionably at the forefront of that movement,” TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein said. “We are tremendously excited to be continuing our great relationship with Netflix and bringing to fans all over the world the latest chapter in this amazing and intriguing story.”

Speaking of Netflix, the site is preparing to add a ton of new series and movies to their lineup this October and, trust us, you’re going to want to check this out.

Gilmore Girls, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Carrie, Django Unchained, and so much more will be available for streaming in a few short weeks.

Premiere of Insomnia

Tensions came to a boiling point for the cast of The View last week.

Whoopi Goldberg and her co-host Rosie O’Donnell got into a bit of a heated argument in front of the live studio audience on Thursday and it was ugly. While discussing spanking, the ladies of The View ran over time, which the producers made clear using their earpieces for communication. Whoopi was alerted that it was time for a commercial break, Rosie, however, refuses to wear an earpiece, so she didn’t get the message.

Whoopi cut Rosie off mid-sentence to share the message, which sparked a nasty argument between the two.

“As soon as they went to commercial break, Rosie took the handheld mic that they use to engage the audience,” a source says. “Instead of talking to the crowd, Rosie spoke directly to Whoopi in the mix that she ‘hurt my feelings,’ and that she was ‘very upset by it’ and ‘didn’t appreciate’ what Whoopi had done.”

The source claims Whoopi tried to defuse the situation, saying, “This isn’t the time for this, Rosie.”

Instead of letting it go, O’Donnell continued with her rant.

“Well I just don’t appreciate you saying that you were going to do something and not doing it. It makes me upset and I just don’t want to have to go through this,” she added.
