Kylie Jenner sounds a little down in the dumps in the August issue of Allure magazine.
At 18 years old, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality star and makeup maven is arguably one of the most famous people in the world, but her recent interviews paint the picture of an overexposed teen who’s done with the idea of fame and all that comes with it.
It goes without saying, Kylie looks gorgeous in her spread for the renowned publication. The shots are simple and fun, and show Kylie much like how we see her on social media – playing with her dogs and flaunting those long legs.

Inside, Kylie gets honest about the image she projects online. “People think that since we have a reality TV show and I show so much of my life that they know who I am. But on Snapchat I show people what I think they want to see,” she admits, adding, “That’s not me. It’s a projected image. A brand. I’m not a different person. I just don’t show all of me.”
Sadly, she feels she can’t show the world too much of her true self, and we’re not sure she’s entirely wrong. More opinion and criticism could be too much to handle at eighteen years old.
“I usually don’t show my true personality to the world, because when you open yourself up so much, there’s more room for people to say things about you,” she tells Allure.
Ultimately, she’s got plans to leave the fame game and focus on true happiness, which she defines as “being with your friends.”
“I know I don’t want to be famous forever. There’s gonna be a time where I feel comfortable, I’m at a good place in my life, and I just stop.” She continues, “Honestly, if I didn’t have my family in my life, and I was going through all of this myself, I don’t know what I would do.”
She reminds us she’s different from her sisters, as she doesn’t remember her life before fame.
“I’m a special case. I can’t remember what it’s like not to be famous. So I’m able to appreciate what true happiness is all about. A new car, that’s not real happiness. That lasts a month. That’s short-term happiness.”
You’ll recall Kylie faced a lot of backlash for her relationship with rapper Tyga, who’s much older and seemingly didn’t mind bragging about dating an underage girl. Though they recently took a short-lived break, they’re back on and flaunting their love on social media.
