50 Cent is no stranger to publicly expressing his anger…even if it’s towards his own show. However, this could all be a marketing scheme?
Back in August 2016, the rapper expressed outraged when a sex scene with him in the hit show Power supposedly exposed his private parts. The 41-year-old vented his feelings on Instagram.
Well according to Power creator, Courtney Kemp, 50 Cent’s dismay was all just a show. In a recent interview with Refinery29, Kemp said 50 Cent’s feud with her and the show was “”all bullsh–!” She continued, “50 and I are extremely close, so all that social media drama? It’s just for the show. People truly believed that he did not know his di– was going to be on camera. I couldn’t believe it! Do you know how long we had to prepare for that shot? Of course he knew. The whole thing just gave us so much more buzz and helped me realize how we can use social media to our advantage. 50 Cent is a brilliant marketer.”
It seems like the hip-hop mogul has various approaches to getting viewers. This is TV we’re talking about and drama does sell. But, is 50 Cent brilliant or doing too much?
