Beyoncé dropped a new video for her Lemonade cut “Freedom,” but neither she or Kendrick Lamar star in the visual. Instead, the superstar used the moment to celebrate International Day of the Girl. As usual, Beyoncé put together a powerful piece, this time featuring a handful of girls from different backgrounds dancing their hardest as they mouth the words to her 2016 single. All the while, fans learn a lot about just how dangerous it is to be born a girl, even in 2017.
“Today is #DayoftheGirl. Girls around the world are fighting for their freedom every day. Join me, Chime for Change, and The Global Goals by taking action for #FreedomForGirls now: www.globalgoals.org/dayofthegirl,” Beyoncé wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, October 11.
