πŸ’The idea of @LilAppleSeries was birthed out of love and appreciation for the women of color in my life. πŸ’šMy mother, my grandmother, my aunt and my personal Little Apple-my little sister πŸ‘§πŸΎ. In a society that is often anti-Black and anti-woman, #LittleApple is #1️⃣: My love letter to WOC who persist to represent the best of this world–speaking truth to power and oftentimes leading racial and social justice movements. (#PatriciaOkoumou, #BreeNewsome, #AuntieMaxine and so many others!) And #2️⃣: My way of opening up the racial/social justice conversation to youth like Milan Williams (my lead #actor) and adding context to the experiences with systems of oppression they will inevitably encounter. I'm imagining a world where Sharp, Intelligent, Curious, Magical little Black children–particularly little Black girls–are safe. Join me. πŸ’«πŸŒŽ [ link in bio ]
